“You can always expect a brilliant performance from Pete, an accomplished songwriter who consistently delivers high quality performances of his own solo material”
The Arches, Tynemouth 2023
As a singer/songwriter Pete has shared the stage with Lindisfarne, Richard Thompson, Boo Hewerdine and Baz (Stranglers) Warnes. Pete’s eclectic inspirations range from Tyrannosaurus Rex, Nick Drake and Richard Thompson to Roy Harper, Jimi Hendrix and King Crimson.
More recently Pete has been performing solo and with one of his two trios at venues across the north east.

Whitley Bay Fiesta – St Pail’s Church – Oct 1st – 2023
From his widely respected own compositions including live favourites Icarus Feather, Conversing With The Moon and Box Full of Letters to rare acoustic covers of songs from Hendrix and stones to John Martyn and Neil Young, Pete keeps the challenge going to find songs old and new he enjoys playing – and that is the key – Pete enjoys the songs he plays and it comes across in his performances, whether solo acoustic or in one of his occasional bands.
Halloween Festival – The Ticket Office – Whitley Bay – Oct 28th – 2023
Below you can fins a few of his songs and some of what’s been said…
“Pete ‘Acoustic’ Shaw: Guitarist with the late, great Beeblefish Trio; Pete is back with his innovative original tunes for a solo set that will include all the usual great musicianship, humour and warmth associated with this captivating performer… Not to be missed! Check him out!”
Acoustic Nights @ The North Terrace
“An old favourite of Pulse music, Playing whimsical songs of original composition Pete Shaw’s musical style is pretty unique given his broad interest in music, and almost in spite of his rock virtuoso influences his own music is heavily entrenched in a blues/folk crossover with clever pull offs and hammer on plays, almost playing lead while playing rhythm guitar and singing at the same time. Many know him and love him especially his catchy powerful songs such as Icarus Feather, Conversing With The Moon, Backs of Angels and a certain song about a much favoured Computer Gaming Console”
